Holiday Portrait Session at Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix, Arizona

I was so excited when Lori called me to see about scheduling a holiday photo session for her daughter. Lori and I met about a year and a half ago…she is a talented makeup artist in town and I was in need of her help! We got to talking and realized we had kids around the same age and we exchanged information and stayed in touch a bit as the months went by and I was so touched when Lori thought of me for her daughter’s portrait session.

Lori is one of the kindest, sweetest souls you could meet and her beauty shines from the inside out. I was so excited to get the opportunity to meet her sweet daughter who, as you will see, is an old soul and has her mom’s sweetness. At four years old (can you believe it?! I would have sworn she was at least six!) she was a dream to photograph and so much fun to spend the morning with. We even made it snow a bit!

I kept thinking about this article about the importance of being in pictures with our children and of people I know who have no photos of their grandparents or great-grandparents and I couldn’t let an opportunity go to waste. I took this photo of Mom and daughter and when Lori saw this image it brought tears to here eyes (and then, of course, to mine, too.) How beautiful is this woman, this mother and daughter and this moment? It is such an honor to be able to show people how beautiful they are and to capture moments for them that they can cherish forever and that will hopefully be passed down through their family. I am so glad for both mom and daughter that they will always have this moment, frozen in time. Thank you, Lori, for trusting me and allowing me to take this photo of beautiful you and your beautiful daughter.  xo
