[en]frame photography has been on a bit of a break since the birth of our son in June and we are slowly making our way back. There has been a lot of excitement and love around here; time spent with family and friends and even a little traveling. I will be sharing some images as I am able. I recently broke out the “big camera”/”my other baby” again but I have especially been enjoying the ease of the iPhone camera lately both in the way that it is less intrusive when trying to capture baby smiles and family moments and also that it is just easier to carry around when you’re toting a heavy diaper bag, stroller, etc. . . Especially when there is plenty of light, the camera phone can be a great tool to capture special moments and images. I love, too, that the iPhone can often capture angles that are more difficult with a DSLR. I’ve also discovered a new (to me) app called afterlight that is a powerful editing tool and I’ve found that printing iPhone images through Mpix or artifact uprising has resulted in some beautiful, high quality display-worthy prints.
Surely, “big camera” moments are coming too. [en]frame photography will be shooting a limited number of family sessions this season as well as an upcoming wedding in December. We also recently took a family road trip along parts of Route 66 and up to the Grand Canyon and captured some fun images along the way, so stay tuned. . .
Here is such a special moment that I captured of our two beautiful sons using my iPhone and plenty of natural light. Not only is it one of my very favorite images that I know will always bring a smile to my face and make my heart feel like it is exploding with love and joy, but it’s also a great example of “the best camera is the one you have with you” (Chase Jarvis.)
Thank you for hanging in there while [en]frame photography has been away and adjusting to life with our newest love.
xo,
Rachel
