Hang around here long enough and you’ll no doubt get a sense for my obsession with Pinterest. Well, now I have one more BIG reason to love that site as it brought me this beautiful family that I got to meet and photograph last month.
Erica, the stunning new mom that you see in these images, was looking to arrange a family photo session as a gift for her mom/doting grandmother to her ADORABLE son Ty (seriously, do you not want to just eat him up?!) She and her siblings were all going to be traveling in from out of town to be with their parents for the holidays and since it’s not often that they are all together, they wanted to be sure to capture some family memories. Erica hopped on Pinterest to find some Phoenix-area photographers and I’m honored that she found and reached out to me to help with the task!
We decided to meet at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve for their extend family photo session; what a gorgeous spot this is that I’m looking forward to returning to for future photo sessions. As you can see, Erica and her family did a great job preparing for their shoot ( i.e. this is great inspiration for what to wear for your family photo session — coordinating colors, but not “matchy-matchy;” incorporating some textures and patterns into your wardrobe choices; and could you not just die over baby Ty’s cuffed jeans and moccasins?!) Immediately upon meeting them I could tell how happy they were to all be together and that this would be a awesome group to photograph! And it was easy to see that baby Ty was surrounded by LOTS of love from his parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles! Such a lucky and delicious little boy! I’m pretty sure at one point all ten of us (this gorgeous fam, me and my awesome sister who was also in town and made the BEST assistant!) were singning “Baa, Baa Black Sheep” . . . but I’m not sure if it was for Ty’s benefit or for the adults. 😉
Erica and family, it was SO wonderful to meet you all. I hope you had lots of fabulous family time together here in Arizona and that you will all have the chance to be together again soon. Until then, I hope the images from your family photo session will be cherished mementos from your visit and for years to come. xo, Rachel
