Printable Coloring Pages for Kids While Social Distancing
There is a lot of scary stuff out there about the Coronavirus and while I want to stress the importance of staying home and social distancing, I don’t want to be another voice of fear and anxiety (even though I have both.) More than usual this past week, I have needed a creative outlet and I get the sense others do too. So I took some time to create some printable coloring pages for kids while social distancing. (That totally work for adults too.) I know there are a lot of links and resources out there for things to do with our kids while we’re social distancing. In case you are burning through them or just looking for something new, I’ve created some coloring pages for your kiddos (or for you.) I find coloring so relaxing and it’s a great way to not only keep busy but to take our minds off of what can be scary news. Even better, maybe it will buy you a few minutes of quiet and time to yourself while the kids are busy coloring (fingers crossed!)
You are welcome to download and print these pages as often as you’d like. They are made to fit 8.5 x 11 printer paper. Save and print the .jpg or click on the hyperlink to download the PDF.
I AM A SUPERHERO
This first coloring page is especially for the little ones.
For those that have little ones at home, I know one of the challenges has been trying to explain to them why we’re social distancing. It’s hard to both explain why while also trying to make it not so scary. And I know many of them are probably disappointed about the activities and friends they are missing. We have been trying to “reframe” the situation for our five year old by explaining that we are staying home because we are superheroes! We are superheroes who are doing our part to stop the virus from spreading. By making sacrifices for the greater good and helping to reduce the number of people who get sick — and especially protecting those who are more vulnerable — we are truly being heroic.

WE BELONG TO EACH OTHER
This one is for the slightly older kids…and, let’s be honest…for all of us. While this experience is complicated and scary (to say the least) one of the “silver linings” I believe is that it’s a concrete example of the importance of caring for each other and of how our actions impact others. This is an important lesson for us to learn and emphasize through this whole experience. We belong to each other. We are truly connected. There is no “I,” there is only “we” and WE can only beat this by working together and caring for one another.

These additional pages are just for fun and relaxation. I find coloring kinda meditative and maybe you’ll find these pages to be just that.
